Representative microscope images of Piranha solution cleaned (a) and PFDT molecules modified silicon surface (b) after immersion test in B. braunii culture for 1 week. The population of B. braunii cells attached on the Piranha solution cleaned silicon surface is much higher than that on the PFDT molecules modified silicon surface. We can therefore conclude that PFDT coated silicon surface possesses fouling resistant properties regarding B. braunii
