Reagents and conditions: i) EDCI.HCl, DCM, rt, 18h; ii) DDQ, ethyl acetate, reflux, 18h; iii) LiAlH4/AlCl3, THF/Et2O, 0°C-rt, 2h; iv) dimethyl amine, HCHO, CH3COOH; v) 1. MeI, CH2CL2, 2. KCN, dicyclohexyl[18]-crown[6], MeCN; vi) 2-nitroethyl acetate, tert. butyl catechol, xylene, reflux, 18h; vii) H2, Pd/C, 4 mbar, rt, 18h; viii) acetic anhydride, Et3N, DCM, rt, 18h.
